Meghan Meredith, Head of School, 801.262.4922 Ext. 210  mmerideth@utahvirtual.org - graduated from Utah Valley University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science. Meghan completed her Master's Degree in Educational Counseling from University of Phoenix in 2009. She has been with UTVA since 2011, and has experience in working with students of all grade levels with charter and district schools prior to joining UTVA. Meghan has a passion for virtual education believing that all students can learn and virtual education is a vehicle to facilitate quality education statewide.

Debbie Dempsey, Academic Director, 801.262.4922 Ext. 200 ddempsey@k12.com – graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  She earned her M.Ed. at City University of Seattle, and her principal certification from Seattle Pacific University.  She is currently completing a doctoral degree in Administrative Leadership for Teaching and Learning, focusing on high school dropouts.  Debbie taught Special Education in grades 1–12 in private and public schools for 21 years, and has been a principal for 10 years in both public and charter school systems.  Her family has lived in Maryland, Washington, California, and are glad to call Utah home again.  Her husband is a retired Boeing engineer, they have two married children and three of the cutest grandsons around.  Her experience with non-traditional educational opportunities has shown her endless possibilities for each student to reach their dreams. 

Shelly Strahan, Special Programs Manager, 801.262.4922 Ext. 6000 sstrahan@utahvirtual.org - graduated from Southern Utah University in 2003 with a teaching degree in Secondary Language Arts and Journalism. After teaching Language Arts for two years at an alternative private school setting, Shelly realized her real passion was working with students with disabilities, especially autism. She earned her endorsement in Special Education endorsement from Utah State University and moved into special education in the public school system. Shelly has worked in private schools, a public district school, and now at Utah Virtual Academy. She was been the Special Education Coordinator at UTVA for seven years, and this year moved to the position of Special Manager, where she oversees compliance for Special Education, Title I programs, 504 plans, and ELL. Her strongest belief is that given the opportunity, all students can learn.

Paul L. Glanton, K12 Utah Local Development Manager, 801.452.5221 pglanton@k12.com - joined the K12/UTVA team in April of 2009. Paul attended the University of Minnesota on football scholarship where he majored in Music and minored in Theater. Then had a brief stint as a free agent linebacker with the National Football League Kansas City Chiefs. His career includes experience as a semi-professional opera singer, assistant and associate dean of admissions, outreach/placement supervisor, corporate training director, and center director with various companies and organizations. Paul lives in Roy, UT with his beautiful wife Debbie, two daughters Kyleah and LaQuira, grandsons CJ and Cayden, and dog Cocoa Bean. His hobbies include listening to opera, fishing, and gardening. Paul feels his true passion lies in working closely with students and parents in their quest for quality education.

Angie Kreitzer, K-8 Principal, 801.262.4922 Ext. 7000 akreitzer@utahvirtual.org - completed her bachelor's degree at Utah State University in Elementary Education. She is a former fourth grade teacher where she innovatively integrated technology into her classroom. Angie joined the UTVA staff in 2008 and is now in her seventh year. She has served as a teacher, lead teacher and title family and student engagement coordinator. Angie brings strong love for school choice, and enthusiasm for partnering with parents to facilitate enjoyable, effective schooling for children here in Utah.
